Our Story

Anthony’s Restaurant is a family owned and operated establishment with strong ties to the Falls Church community. Anthony, the owner and founder, immigrated to the United States from Molaoi, Greece in the l960s. With a desire for success and a strong work ethic, Anthony began working at a restaurant while attending college in Washington, D.C. He further explored his passion for cooking as a mess hall cook in the U.S. National Guard.

Anthony dove, head first, into the restaurant business when he opened the original Falls Church location on May 21, 1972. Initially, it was a tiny pizza and sub shop, but the square footage grew to accommodate the expanding menu.

In 1976, Anthony married Faye, who was no stranger to the restaurant business, as her family owned a taverna, or small restaurant in a quaint village in southern Greece. The village of Niata, depicted in the beautiful mural in our party room, is still home to Faye's family's restaurant, which is now run by her older brother.

Faye brought to Anthony's fresh ideas and traditional family recipes, as well as a palatable love of cooking and baking. Together, Anthony and Faye worked tirelessly to create a family-friendly environment for the community to gather and to enjoy classic Greek, American, and Italian dishes. They raised their own family in the restaurant, while watching their customers' families grow as well. Anthony's became an informal landmark in the city of Falls Church.

On June 2, 2013, our family and staff said goodbye to loyal patrons and friends at the original Anthony's location, but continued serving the Northern Virginia community at the second Anthony’s location, which was built in 1995 in Manassas, Virginia.

Anthony, Faye, their children, and their grandchildren are thrilled to return to Falls Church in our new home on Annandale Road. We welcome you to our restaurant and look forward to serving you and your family for generations to come.
